Children’s Support Groups
What are Children’s Grief Support Groups?
Lionheart’s Children’s Grief Support Groups are small, in-person group programs for children aged 7 to 12 years, who have experienced the death of someone important in their life.
Through shared experiences, conversations, and activities, children are supported to build confidence, express themselves, and feel less alone. This program is designed as a continuation of support following New Families Camp, helping children stay connected as they navigate life after loss.
This pilot program is offered free of charge to families, thanks to the support of our funder, Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, and our partnership with Siblings Australia.
Who is this program for?
This program is for children who:
- Are aged 7 to 12 years
- Have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or significant person
- Have attended a Lionheart New Families Camp previously
- May benefit from ongoing connection and support in a small group setting
Groups are intentionally kept small so every child feels heard, included, and supported.

Come join us!
For our little Lionhearts, our Support Groups are a space where children can connect with friends from a camp program and meet some new friends. Being part of our support group, children will also:
- Feel less alone in their grief
- Build confidence in sharing and connecting
- Strengthen emotional awareness and communication
- Maintain connection to the Lionheart community
Lionheart programs are designed to create spaces where children can connect, understand their grief, and build confidence. We’d love your child to join us.
